Be able to identify and know the importance of:

-Emperor Frederick Barbarossa of the Holy Roman Empire

-Be able to define:
-barter economy
-market economy
-usury
-apprentice
-journeyman

Understand:
-Who called the Crusades?  Why were they called?
-What were the results of the Crusades?
-What was the Black Death?
-What were the results of the Black Death?

Know who the following people are, why they're important and their major accomplishments:
-Charlemagne
-William the Conqueror
-Pope Innocent III
-Otto I
-Gregory VII
-Henry III
-Vikings

Understand:
-medieval
-serfs
-chivalry
-tithe

Also:
-Why were the Vikings so greatly feared?
-What caused the decline of Charlemagne's empire?
-What were the characteristics of the code of chivalry?
-What was life like for the serfs and for the nobility on the manor?
