"Playbook" for Tuesday's Assessment (11/26)

Here are some items/concepts that you should understand for tomorrow's assessment:
-Who split the Roman Empire into 2 parts?  Why?
-What was the name of the capital city of the Eastern part of the empire?
-What were the positives of having the capital city where it was located?
-In what ways did this new empire attempt to stay "Roman"?
-Know the surrounding geography of the Byzantine Empire.
-Understand the affect that the Mongols had in Eastern Europe and Kievan Russia.
-Know the significance of Ivan the Terrible
-Know the geography of the area surrounding Moscow
-Know which city the Orthodox Church considered the "third Rome" and why.

Here is what you should definitely know/have an understanding for tomorrow's assessment:

-Understand the origins of Christianity.
-Know where Jesus was born and where he lived.
-Understand the death of Jesus and resurrection and why it's significant to Christianity.
-Understand the struggles of early Christianity and it's followers.
-Know the life of Paul (Saul) and accomplishments.
-Know how the early leaders of Christianity died.
-Understand what caused the success of Christianity as a worldwide religion.
